Does the “Greatest Brand of India” come from … China❓
This question has been haunting me.
Sometime back, I saw a brand being hailed on a popular podcast as “The Greatest brand India has ever seen.”
But the products? white-labeled from China.
A social media outrage received sarcastic ridicule from the brand.
Now, I respect every entrepreneur’s hustle.
And it's NOT about one brand. Rather, there are several brands across categories in the same practice.
And why not, it's good for business! .. and scale.
✚ No R&D, product development headaches.
✚ Allows you to focus on just one thing - Marketing.
But let’s Zoom out for a second -
➤ What message are we sending to young founders with such narratives❓
-- That White-labeling builds "Great" brands? all-that-is-good for revenues, is Okay?
-- That R&D, product development, sweating through failures to make a world-class innovative product … All of it .. is optional?
➤ Who will then Make in India❓
Won’t our entrepreneurs give up on building here, influenced by such narratives?
Recently, our PM in the Independence Day speech urged businesses to proudly promote their Swadeshi commitment.
I decided to take it a step further.
▶️ Beyond just GODS, I will go further -- and promote ALL Made in India brands in our categories, even my competitors.
Yes. You read that right.
✦ I will promote every ✹ Made in India ✹ brand in my industry, even my competitors -- in front of my OWN customers and audience.
✦ The purpose is to list down ALL Made in India options so they can be considered by buyers before their next purchase.

We will be covering them in separate posts on GODS social media and other channels.
This is about making sure innovation in India - not just survives and thrives -- but is celebrated.
